Physical Penile Alteration
Here at Instituto Paulista we are completely against penile bioplasty, also known as PMMA. Many patients who have been through such procedures look for us informing the procedure provoked fibrosis, which are nodules in the penis that can generate infection. Check below.
What is it? When to get it?
We have had patients who required operation to remove the nodules. One patient came from
another clinic with amputation recommendation, though we were fortunately able to reverse
the situation and save the patient with bioplasty removal surgery, penile washing, hyperbaric
chamber, vacuum bandages and graft. After 18 interventions we were able to reverse such
condition and spare the patient from amputation.
With the current increase in the number os patients with PMMA and complicated bioplastics,
we developed a technique in which we fix this penis PMMA with the patient’s own fat. With
a plastic surgery the gaps in the penis are filled with the patient’s own fat (autologous), on top
of the PMMA. This technique avoids infections and nodules, making the patient happy with
the final result.
